Introduction to LED Patterns

Moving beyond a single blinking LED, we'll learn to control multiple LEDs to create mesmerizing patterns like running lights, binary counters, and random sparkles!

When working with multiple LEDs, we need efficient ways to manage them. Instead of writing repetitive code for each LED, we'll use:

Arrays

Store multiple pin numbers in one variable

For Loops

Repeat actions for each LED automatically

millis() Timing

Non-blocking timing for smooth patterns

Components Needed
  • Arduino Uno1
  • LEDs (Red, Yellow, Green, Blue)4
  • 220Ω Resistors4
  • Breadboard1
  • Jumper Wires~10

Circuit Diagram - 4 LED Setup

Below is our complete circuit with 4 LEDs connected to Arduino pins 8, 9, 10, and 11. Each LED has its own 220Ω current-limiting resistor for protection.
