🦠 Viruses: Tiny Invaders

Viruses are some of the smallest and most mysterious things in nature. They're not quite alive, yet they can make us very sick. Let's explore what they are, how they work, and how we can fight them!

1 What Is a Virus?

A virus is a non-cellular particle — meaning it is not made of cells. Unlike bacteria, plants, or animals, viruses don't have a nucleus, cell membrane, or organelles. They are far simpler than even the smallest living cell.

Think of it this way: if a bacterium were the size of a basketball, a virus would be about the size of a marble!

Notice: The scale is logarithmic — each step is 10× bigger! A human hair is thousands of times wider than a virus.
