Properties of Numerical Inequalities

What Are Inequalities?

An inequality is a mathematical statement that compares two expressions using the symbols < (less than), > (greater than), ≤ (less than or equal to), or ≥ (greater than or equal to).

For example: $3 < 5$, $-2 > -7$, $x + 1 \leq 10$. Just like equations have rules, inequalities have precise theorems that govern how we can manipulate them. Let's explore each one!

📐 Visualizing Inequalities on a Number Line

On a number line, a number to the left is always less than a number to the right. This is the foundation of all inequality properties.
