Mathematics Grade 1 Difficulty 2/5

Beginning of the lesson

Skip Counting

Skip counting means we count by skipping numbers.

When we count by 2s:

2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12...

We skip 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11...

When we count by 5s:

5, 10, 15, 20, 25...

We skip many numbers in between!

When we count by 10s:

10, 20, 30, 40, 50...

We jump even bigger!

Skip counting helps us:

  • Count faster
  • Learn about patterns
  • Get ready for multiplication
