Time: Hours and Half-Hours
A clock helps us tell time.
A clock has two hands.
- The big hand shows minutes.
- The small hand shows hours.
When the big hand points to 12:
We say it is "o'clock".
The small hand tells which hour.
3 o'clock
When the big hand points to 6:
We say it is "half past".
It is halfway to the next hour.
Half past 1
We use time to plan our day:
- 8 o'clock - School starts
- Half past 11 - Lunch time
- 3 o'clock - School ends
- Half past 7 - Bedtime
