Stem-and-Leaf Plots

A stem-and-leaf plot is a special way to organize numbers that helps us see patterns in our data. It's like creating a picture with our numbers!

In a stem-and-leaf plot:

  • The stem is the first part of each number (usually the tens digit).
  • The leaf is the last part of each number (usually the ones digit).

For example, in the number 42:

  • The stem is 4 (the tens place)
  • The leaf is 2 (the ones place)
