The Dot Product (Scalar Product)
The dot product is one of the most powerful tools in algebra and geometry. It takes two vectors and returns a scalar (a single number), encoding information about the vectors' lengths and the angle between them. In this lesson we develop the dot product from two perspectives — algebraic and geometric — prove they are equivalent, and unlock a toolkit of applications from perpendicularity tests to projections and geometric proofs.
