Measuring Length with Rulers
A ruler helps us measure length.
Rulers show inches or centimeters.
Inches are used in America.
Centimeters are used in many countries.
On a ruler, you see little lines.
Each line shows a measurement.
The big lines show whole numbers.
The small lines show parts.
To measure something:
- Line up the object at 0.
- Look where the object ends.
- Read the number on the ruler.
We can measure many things:
- Pencils
- Books
- Toys
- Your height
